Green Ocean Energy Team Grows With Key Appointment

Aberdeen-based Green Ocean Energy has expanded its team with the creation of a new role within the company. Laura Sarkis will provide vital support to the company in the newly established position of Project Administrator.

Assisting with the development of the company, Laura’s renewable energy experience will be central to Green Ocean Energy, which has developed groundbreaking wave power technology called Wave Treader.

Graeme Bell, CEO of Green Ocean Energy says, “ Laura is a valuable addition to our team and will be a key asset as we drive the company forward. We are very excited to have her on board and looking forward to working with her and growing the team further in the coming months.”

Legal graduate Laura joins the company from AREG where she worked with numerous renewable energy companies and also assisted with the progression of the Aberdeen offshore wind farm. Prior to her career in renewables, Laura served in the Royal Military police for five years which took her around the world to places such as Kosovo, Sierra Leone and Oman.

Her appointment comes as Green Ocean Energy confirmed it is a step closer to becoming the only marine power company in the world to have its technology fully certified. The firm’s Wave Treader device, which attaches to the transition piece of an offshore wind turbine to generate combined wind and wave energy, will imminently secure Statement of Feasibility from DNV (Det Norske Veritas).

Green Ocean Energy has also recently relocated its growing team to new offices in Queens Gardens.
