Alistair joined John M Henderson and Co Ltd in 1995 , in a Business Development role. He was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in August 2002. In recent years, the company has expanded its business overseas, notably into Asia. There has also been a refocus on growth in manufacturing for the oil industry.
In 2005, Alistair conducted the first stage of a management buyout of the company, together with Technical Director, Gary McCombie. The MBO was concluded in 2006 at which point Alistair became Managing Director of the company.
Alistair has an Economics from Edinburgh University, and went back there to study part-time for an MBA, graduating in 2005.
